Additional Comments: "There were only two incidents of smoking by minor characters in the film. However, the most important scene involves a cigaretee that was never actually lit. In the scene, a man pulls out a cigarette in the home of Carol Connelly (Helen Hunt); she immediately shouts 'You can't smoke! He can't take smoke!', referring to her severely asthmatic son. It is rare that we see an accurate depiction in movies of the harmful effects of secondhand smoke on children. Kudos to director James L. Brooks for including this scene."
