The film was reviewed by Dr. Barry Hummel on 6/5/2008.

Dr. Hummel posted the following additional comments:  "Indiana Jones has both a friend and an enemy in George 'Mac' Michale, a triple or quadruple agent (I lost count).  Mac is also the only character who smokes during the film.

In this scene, we see Mac light up a cigar as he tails Indy and Mutt as they begin their search for The Crystal Skull:

The cigar actually draws attention to the character so that the viewer will take a careful look at hime and identify him.  Later on, Mac blows a little smoke Indy's way as he explains why he is turning his coat so frequently:

As I always try to point out, the tobacco use adds nothing to the character or the story.  We don't need the cigar to tell us that Mac is a morally bankrupt human being."
