Year of Release: 1973 MPAA Rating: PG Director: Guy Hamilton Distributor: United Artists The film was reviewed by Dr. Barry Hummel on 3/9/2008.
Dr Hummel posted the following additional comments:
"Roger Moore assumed the role of British secret agent James Bond beginning with Live and Let Die. Unlike his two predecessors (Sean Connery and George Lazenby) who smoked cigarettes, Moore's Bond preferred cigars. As it turns out, they make significantly better weapons...
Now that is some cigar. Look at the size of it! Could it be that Mr. Moore is compensating for something? Like the fact that he is not Mr. Connery?
Next we see him actually subdue a human being using just his cigar!

It is certainly not 'all work and no play' for James Bond. For example, take this scene in which Mr. Bond is using a hang glider to quietly swoop in and land on the island of the film's villain, Mr. Big:

I don't know about you, but the last thing I would want to do is set my hang glider on fire while flying above the ocean. That might leave Mr. Bond more than a little shaken and stirred..."
