In this film 22 smoking incidents occured, 15 of which were inside and 7 of which were outside.

The film was reviewed by Dr. Barry Hummel on 3/5/2008.

Dr. Hummel posted the following additional comments: "In 1969, Sean Connery took a one film 'hiatus' from playing the role of James Bond.  George Lazenby stepped in to fill his shows in this film.  The amount of smoking actually increased in this film.  There were 22 smoking incidents in this movie, and three of the films stars were seen smoking repeatedly, including Lazenby, and Telly Savalas (as Blofeld).

In the formulaic world of James Bond movies, Bond usually takes a seat in a high stakes game of chance in a smoke-filled casino... which of course provides him with the opportunity to smoke:

In this film, the cool Mr. Bond also gets to go undercover... which gives him a chance to smoke a pipe as well as his traditional cigarettes:

Eventually, Bond's arch-nemesis Blofield recognizes him (odd that it took him so long, since they met in the previous film, You Only Live Twice).  Ture to his surname, Blofeld 'blows a little smoke' Bond's way...
