Additional comments: This classic Clint Eastwood western had very little smoking; instead it glorified the use of chewing tobacco. Clint Eastwood is seen spitting at just abnout everything that moves... a traveling saleman, a scorpion, a dog, and a bug just to name a few. He also spits just before he draws his pistols during a gunfight, which makes it look like a sign of strength. I counted each scene in which Eastwood "spits" as an outdoor tobacco incident, since there is no secondhand smoke associated with spit tobacco.
