The film was reviewed by Dr. Barry Hummel on 9/3/2007.

Dr. Hummel posted the following additional comments: "Given that this movie is a spoof of film noir detective films, it is no surprise that it is loaded with smoking images. Several stand out, however.

The image of Baby Herman puffing on a stogie is the most disturbing:

Equally sad is the scene where kids are smoking Lucky Strikes on the back of the trolley, even giving the down-and-out Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins)cigarettes.

The makers of Lucky Strike cigarettes got quite a bit for their product placement money.  There are also ads visible for Lucky Strike in the secret back room of the bar.  Check out the sign on the door in this scene:

Apparently, even the toons enjoy a good smoke.  Check out the weasels as they show up to intimidate Eddie Valiant:

And poor Betty Boop!  With her acting career over now that cartoons are made in color, she is forced to take a job hawking Camel cigarettes at the Ink and Paint Club."
